Phil Carulli
I commenced my career 22 years ago as an accountant working for a Public Company. This beginning provided a great understanding of accounting concepts but I found I was drawn towards tax and public practice due to the greater diversity of work. In 1999 I began working in a mid-tier firm and found this timing was ideal due to the significant tax changes that were occurring including the introduction of GST.
My passion is working closely with clients and spending time in their business to gain a better understanding of their financial affairs. This allows me to provide better and more timely advice.
My areas of expertise include construction industry, property taxation issues, including property investment vs development, capital gains tax, GST, business structuring for tax efficiency and asset protection, taxation and business planning and self-managed superannuation funds.
I also work closely with a number of technology and start-up businesses assisting them with structuring, raising capital, growth strategy through to IPO/ICO, along with providing corporate compliance and governance whilst acting as Company Secretary and Director.
I have been a Chartered Accountant since 2001, am a registered self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) auditor and specialist SMSF advisor. I am also a member of the Institute of Company Directors.
In a former life I was a lawnmower man, working in the family business (est. 1956) and a musician. Now I spend my time with my wife and two children and enjoying the company of friends and family.
